Chelsea – The Best Just Got Better

According to reports, Jose Mourinho thinks Frank Lampard is the best player in the world and should win every award going.

Now it’s perfectly understandable that he should rate Lampard extremely highly. The lad is a model professional. His game has improved immeasurably since he joined the club. He has a ‘good engine’, good vision, passes the ball well and scores goals from midfield – lots of them. He is a without doubt a key player at Chelsea. But the world?

If Jose is serious, imagine this. Arsene Wenger rings him up and says, “I’ll swap you Frank Lampard for Thierry Henry.” And Jose replies, “Roubles to you, mate. I’m not swapping the best player in the world for your striker, even if he has got explosive pace which my player hasn’t.”

Of course in the real world the offer would not be made because Arsene Wenger has far too much sense. But if it were, you can safely assume that it would be accepted with alacrity, and the former best player in the world would be on his way out of Stamford Bridge.

To be replaced swiftly by the best player in the world. And no kidding.
