Apparently Blackburn manager Mark Hughes saw nothing untoward in Robbie Savage’s embarrassing histrionics when the merest touch of Jose Antonio Reyes’ glove on his blonde locks sent him writhing in mock agony, with one eye shut and the other turned hopefully towards referee Chris Foy.

Was this the same Savage who moments earlier had stood menacingly over Reyes and taunted him to get up?
