Arsenal's Cutting Edge
You’ll never get him to admit it, but Jose Mourinho would have watched the performance of Arsenal’s youngsters in the 6-3 Carling Cup annihilation of Liverpool at Anfield with an envy that must have been almost unbearable. Because deep down, he is astute enough to know that all the talk about the depth and quality of Chelsea’s squad has been blown out of the water.
In a curious way, a comparison between the two squads is reminiscent of the scene in ‘Crocodile Dundee’ when a New York hoodlum threatens Mick and his girl. She urges him to hand over his wallet because “He’s got a knife.” At this point Mick looks contemptuously at the boy, reaches into his pocket and says: “That’s not a knife. This is a knife”. Terrified, the youngster melts into the darkness.
Enough said.
