It's Thumbs Down for Lumpy

For the benefit of thousands of loyal England fans exasperated and incensed by the drab and cumbersome performances of Frank (Lumpy) Lampard in recent England games and besieging football talk shows in order to let off steam, here is a little light relief which may help.

Observe him running. It isn’t difficult because we’re not talking blistering pace here. Now ask yourself two questions. Why does he run with his thumbs stuck up in the air? And does this particular affectation slow him down?

Just think. If Lumpy were to make himself a bit more aerodynamic by dropping the thumbs, he could be a step closer to that electric pace he must be longing for.
