Portsmouth
Harry Redknapp’s plans to recruit his son in the battle to save Portsmouth’s premiership status and build a secure future for the club may have to be deferred – not least because Jamie has quickly established himself as a ‘natural’ in front of the cameras with his easy friendly manner and his obvious insight into all aspects of the game.
It’s a situation that may open the way for Kevin Bond to make a dramatic return to Fratton Park – especially in the light of reports that Kevin has been put on ‘gardening leave’ after falling out with Southampton caretaker boss Dave Bassett.
In the meantime, Harry must build on a gritty and committed performance against Bryan Robson’s West Brom, and aim to grab more valuable points from difficult home games against his former club West Ham on Boxing Day and Fulham on New Year’s Eve – not to mention a formidable fixture against Arsenal at Highbury on 28th December.
