New Faces at Pompey
It’s all happening at Portsmouth. A new co-owner for Milan Mandaric to work with (they hope) – bringing (allegedly) big money investment and a hint of Russian mystery (though unlike the Chelsea owner, this one can actually speak English).
Add to that two new strikers who are bound to keep the commentators on their toes. To begin with, there’s Nigerian-born Emmanuel Olisadebe from Greek club Panathinaikos, a man with 25 international caps for - you’ve guessed it - Poland. Then 27 year old Benjani Mwaruwari from French club Auxerre, who apparently comes with a ringing endorsement from a man acknowledged to be one of the best judges of a player in world football – Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
And there’s almost certainly more to come.
‘Arry is definitely back!
