Portsmouth
Portsmouth’s hopes of premiership survival have been given a huge boost with the signing of a trio of Spurs players – midfielders Sean Davis and Pedro Mendes and full back Noe Pamarot – in a deal reportedly worth in the region of £7 million.
Manager Harry Redknapp is clearly delighted because he knows he has bought quality, commitment and experience. Ex-Fulham star Davis is an England Under 21 international, Mendes was a Champions League winner with Porto and Pamarot is no stranger to the Hampshire club, having had a spell on loan with Portsmouth in 1999.
This massive strengthening of Harry’s squad is great news for Pompey and their loyal fans. And a real worry for rival clubs in the lower reaches of the premiership.
