Lennon for England
Support for the inclusion of young Aaron Lennon in England’s World Cup squad is growing fast. In Spurs’ game against Bolton Wanderers at White Hart Lane, the winger produced a trademark finish to decide the game and Sven Goran Eriksson was on hand to see it happen.
There’s no doubt Lennon has a great deal to offer – he has electrifying pace, quick feet, a good temperament, excellent vision, superb crossing ability and he scores goals. He is a player who is capable of turning a game and he comes with the added advantage of being an unknown quantity internationally – in other words, he’s a surprise package. And with Shaun Wright-Phillips restricted to cameo roles at Chelsea, there are many good judges who feel that Aaron Lennon should definitely be on the plane to Germany.
