Something else to celebrate down at Stamford Bridge. The Chelsea Ladies have managed to avoid the spectre of relegation from the Premier League.

Nothing special about that you might think. But it does mean that next season they can look forward to competing once again with the likes of Arsenal Ladies.

Except that where Arsenal and Chelsea are concerned, ‘competing’ might not be quite the right word. Last season, the Gunners girls did the League and Cup double.

Ominous.
