Czech Boosts Arsenal
More good news for Arsenal fans. Following Thierry Henry’s momentous decision to commit his future to the Gunners and sign a new four year contract, the club have announced the signing of 25 year old Czech Republic international Tomas Rosicky from Borussia Dortmund, where he was under contract until 2008.
It is typical of Arsenal that the fee has not been officially disclosed, but press speculation suggests that they have secured the services of a player who in 2001 cost Borussia Dortmund a Bundesliga record of £18 million for a bargain £7 million.
The news will disappoint a number of clubs, especially Atletico Madrid who have coveted Rosicky for some time and of course Chelsea, because the player has announced that he is joining “the best club in Europe”.
Mourinho sour grapes are predicted.
