Reds Scrape Home
For safety reasons, Cyprus seems to be the favourite venue for the second leg of Liverpool’s European third round qualifier against Maccabi Haifa and, judging by the first game at Anfield, the Reds are going to have to play a whole lot better.
Roni Levy’s side are clearly no pushovers. They took a shock lead through Gustavo Boccoli and although Craig Bellamy lashed in an equaliser minutes later, the game seemed to heading for a disappointing draw before substitute Mark Gonzales grabbed a spectacular last gasp winner to give them a slender advantage.
