Boothroyd Boosts Squad
Watford boss Adrian Boothroyd has secured 23 year old keeper Ben Foster, who was named in new England manager Steve McClaren’s first squad for the forthcoming friendly against Greece, on loan from Manchester United. This will be the second season at Vicarage Road for Foster, who played such a prominent part in Watford’s drive for the Premiership, via the Championship play-offs.
The Hornets have also recruited Hungarian international striker Tomas Priskin (aged 20) from Gyori ETO and highly rated centre back Danny Shittu (25) from Queens Park Rangers for a reported initial outlay of £1.6 million.
