Congratulations to Reading on a stunning start to their first ever Premiership season. Manager Steve Coppell is virtually the only one at the club with substantial experience of the top flight, yet with pretty much the same side that clinched promotion they took three points from Gareth’s Southgate’s Middlesbrough with a terrific comeback after going 2-0 down in the first 20 minutes.

Goals from Kitson and Sidwell brought them level by half time and substitute Leroy Lita grabbed the winner ten minutes after the interval.
