Watford Up and Running
Adrian Boothroyd’s Watford side registered their first ever Premiership point with a 1-1 home draw in the London derby against West Ham United and visiting manager Alan Pardew was generous enough to acknowledge that they deserved to win and to back them for survival in the top flight.
Marlon King put the Hornets ahead in the 63rd minute with a spectacular shot but their euphoria was short lived – two minutes later Bobby Zamora grabbed the equaliser that briefly elevated the Hammers to the top of the table.
