Old, New, Borrowed, Blue

As expected, Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has been busy in the transfer market. To begin with, he’s snapped up promising 20 year old Portuguese international midfielder Manuel Fernandes on a one year deal from Benfica. All they have to do now is wait for the player to recover from a groin injury that is expected to keep him on the sidelines for several weeks.

And to boost the ‘Dad’s Army contingent’ at Fratton Park, Harry’s also signed the much travelled veteran striker Andrew (formerly known as ‘Andy’) Cole, on a two year contract from Manchester City, for a fee expected to rise to £1 million if he makes enough appearances.
