Nice Work, Harry
If ever a man has earned the right to a nice quiet walk with the dog on the beautiful beach at Sandbanks, it’s Harry Redknapp. Because now that the frenzy of the transfer window is over, the Portsmouth boss can relax in the knowledge that he’s added almost a whole team to his squad and look forward to the prospect of a season free from the spectre of relegation.
Harry’s new signings offer him a careful blend of youth and experience, but what they all have in common is quality. The final two recruits are 27 year old Cameroon international winger Roudolphe Mbela Donala, on a season long loan from Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon, and Niko Kranjcar, a Croatian international midfielder and son of the nation’s World Cup coach Zabo. Niko, who is just 22, was signed from Hajduk Split on a four year deal worth around £3.5 million.
