Absent Friends
New Chelsea left back Ashley Cole has certainly hit the ground moaning. Trouble is, he’s so busy griping about his old club Arsenal he can’t seem to find the time to fit in a decent debut for the Blues. The most charitable interpretation of his performance in the Champions League game against Werder Bremen is that from a player of his undoubted quality it was tentative and left much to be desired – a signal, perhaps, that he should concentrate on his own playing career and leave Arsene Wenger to manage the Gunners.
It’s funny, though. Having been granted his dearest wish to leave Arsenal, poor Ashley just can’t stop talking about them.
