Spurs Are Still Glum
Spurs fans are trying desperately to convince themselves that things can only get better for their heroes but the question is – When? Right now, it’s hard to see any light at the end of the tunnel. They’re currently languishing in 16th position in the Premiership with just one win in five attempts (and that was against newly promoted Sheffield United in the first game of the season). England winger Aaron Lennon will be missing for a further five weeks after recently undergoing a cartilage operation. £10.8 million striker Dimitar Berbatov is expected to be out for a minimum of two weeks due to a troublesome groin injury that may yet require surgery. And to make matters worse, they face the prospect of a trip to Anfield, which in the words of that dreadful football cliché is ‘not an easy place to go’. The early season optimism already seems like a distant memory.
