The Bigger Picture
On the eve of their home game against Arsenal, Charlton Athletic boss Iain Dowie has paid a generous tribute to Arsene Wenger, who this week completed 10 years service with the Gunners, crediting him with having revolutionised top flight English football and describing him as “the epitome of what every manager should aspire to be”.
It is an appraisal which is certain to be greeted with widespread approval, with the possible exception of Spurs fans driven by envy and irrational prejudice, or the odd Chelsea manager burdened by tunnel vision and the weight of an enormous ego.
