Martins is Looking Good

There are signs that Obafemi Martins is beginning to enjoy himself at Newcastle United. The 21 year old £10 million striker helped himself to two goals in three minutes at St James Park against Levadia Tallinn to steer his side to a 3-1 aggregate win and a place in the group stage of the UEFA Cup.

In the 47th minute his sharp header from Emre’s corner gave him his first in front of the home crowd and he followed that with a powerful left foot strike off the underside of the bar and a sequence of somersaults that stirred memories of Lomana Lua Lua.

An ideal confidence booster in preparation for the next challenge – a date with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
