Rosenior Shines
According to reports, Fulham manager Chris Coleman was far from impressed with referee Chris Foy’s decision to award a penalty against Liam Rosenior for an alleged push on Petrov in the game at Villa Park. It gave the home side the opportunity to grab an undeserved lead and could have adversely affected the young right back’s performance.
Fortunately, the reverse was the case. On the brink of half time, Rosenior’s superb crossfield pass allowed Radzinski to set up Volz, who volleyed home a deserved equaliser and his first Premiership goal.
Rosenior is a very promising young player who deserves to be encouraged. Like Theo Walcott, he seems to glide over the playing surface, and though he lacks the devastating pace of Arsenal’s young star, his passing is neat and crisp and he is particularly effective going forward.
And he showed considerable character in recovering from the injustice of a harsh penalty decision to make a telling contribution to a well earned draw by a Fulham team depleted by injuries to several key players.
