Toffee Tinted
The work of David Moyes as manager of Everton Football Club has attracted generous praise, and justifiably so, but if recent press reports are to be believed, he has allowed his euphoria in the light of his team’s draw against Arsenal at The Emirates Stadium to disturb his customary equilibrium.
Apparently, Moyes has informed his goalscorer, Tim Cahill, that he is “as good as anything Arsenal have got” and he is quoted as saying: “There were top class attacking midfield players on show – and Tim is on a par with them.”
For the record, here are the players with whom Tim Cahill is reckoned to be ‘on a par’ – Alexander Hleb, Cesc Fabregas, Gilberto Silva and Tomas Rosicky.
Presumably, this means that in the extremely unlikely event that Arsene Wenger called and offered any of the above in a straight swap with Cahill, Moyes would tell him to get on his bicyclette.
Yeah. Right.
Don’t hold your breath, David. Just change your glasses.
