Spurs Progress in Europe

Spurs overcame the shock of going one down to a 13th minute strike from Salou Ibrahim to beat Club Bruges with two goals from expensive summer signing Dimitar Berbatov and a clinical finish from Robbie Keane.

This win takes them to the top of Group B and gives them every chance of progressing to the knock-out phase of the UEFA Cup competition, but at times they made heavy weather of disposing of very modest opposition. In spite of a recent upturn in their fortunes, they remain an inconsistent and pedestrian outfit compared to the sparkling football produced by their bitter North London rivals.
