Great Win for Newcastle

Injury hit Newcastle United came from behind to surprise a very good Celta Vigo team and clinch a place in the last 32 of the UEFA Cup.

Things had begun to look ominous when Fabio Cannobio put the Spanish side ahead on 8 minutes, but Glenn Roeder’s men refused to panic and 9 minutes before half time 32 year old Antoine Sibierski expertly headed home James Milner’s cross. Then with just four minutes of normal time remaining Steven Taylor stormed in to power home Luque’s corner and register his first goal for the club.

This win maintains Newcastle’s 100% record in the group phase of the competition and follows valuable away points in consecutive away games against Watford, Manchester City and Arsenal.
