Back from the Brink

Could it be that Jimmy Hill is an Avrosport reader? Or is it pure coincidence that just seven days after we expressed exasperation at the old boy trotting out his favourite themes week in, week out, he actually managed to get through a whole programme without recourse to any of his hobby horses – and was much the better for it?

Congratulations Jim, and long may it last. The P45 is on hold for the time being – because we couldn’t help noticing that as the closing credits rolled, there was a very strong hint that he was warming up the one about ‘making it unprofitable’ for players to dive or harass the referee. Old habits die hard.
