Ryan Chases Bobby's Record
When Ryan Giggs steps out at Old Trafford for the 147th Manchester derby it will mark his 688th appearance for the club, bringing him level with Bill Foulkes and within sight of Bobby Charlton’s monumental 759 game record. And at 33 years of age, the man who has already won more titles than any player in the club’s history must be favourite to set an even more impressive total before he hangs up his boots.
Like Paul Scholes, Giggs is a modest man who tends to shun the limelight, but the acquisition of another Premiership title and Bobby Charlton’s record are clearly achievements which would mean a great deal to him as his career draws to a close.
