Congratulations to Martin Samuel of The Times and the News of the World, who was crowned Sports Writer of the Year at the ‘What the Papers Say’ awards – the third time he has been honoured for the outstanding, and very entertaining, quality of his work.

It’s easy to see why Martin has been so successful. He is witty, courageous, knowledgeable and he writes well.
