Rejoice. Rejoice
When Emmanuel Adebayor first arrived at Arsenal there was a fair bit of scepticism. He was young and tall and could head the ball, but he was also a relatively unknown quantity and there were rumours that he was difficult to handle and hardly the world class player for whom there was so much clamour at the time.
Now all that has changed, as anyone who witnessed his energy and brilliance against Blackburn Rovers will appreciate. Emmanuel Adebayor has quickly established himself as a Gunners favourite and a man capable of deputising for Thierry Henry – a feat which a few weeks ago many would have thought impossible.
He thoroughly earned his standing ovation on that day at the Emirates and he’d better get used to it because there are likely to be many more to come.
