Window Shopping

The last deals have been done, the transfer window has closed and we can all concentrate on the football for a few months, unencumbered by constant rumours and gossip about who’s going where.

If that’s the case why is the news full of speculation about the contracts of certain key players – not to mention the budgets which may be available to various managers (not Chelsea of course) and the shopping lists which, allegedly, they (and Chelsea) are already compiling for January?
