Kewell Coming Good

The stunning volley which gave Liverpool the winner against an impressive Spurs side was Harry Kewell’s first at Anfield for more than two years, and the firmest indication to date that the 27 year old Aussie winger is finally emerging from a nightmare period which reached its lowest point when manager Rafael Benitez pulled him off after only 23 minutes of the European Cup Final in Istanbul.

Kewell has always maintained that his dismal form was down to injury rather than apathy and after surgery in the close season he is finally reaching a level of fitness that will ensure that he continues to turn the jeers into cheers.

And credit to Raffa Benitez for showing the patience and the faith which have allowed him to do so.
