One of our leading Sunday papers carried an interview with ex-Manchester United striker Diego Forlan in which he confirmed that Villarreal players dive and insisted that they would continue to do so in their second leg European Champions League semi-final second leg against Arsenal.

In other words, they are planning to cheat their way to the final.

In the interests of football, and common decency, we can only hope that the referee for this tie is as competent and fair minded as in the first, and wish Villarreal the worst of luck.
