Race for 4th Place is Still On
Its hard to believe that Freddie Ljunbergs opening goal for the Gunners against Manchester City was his first of the season in the Premiership. Once again, it was Thierry Henry in the role of provider with a stunning reverse pass to put Freddie through. And in the second half, Arsenals captain was on hand with another assist to set up one of substitute Jose Antonio Reyes two goals.
This victory ensures that Spurs will feel that they have to beat West Ham United at Upton Park to secure 4th place and the possibility of Champions League football next season unless of course Arsenal beat Barcelona in Paris.
For the moment, all Arsenal fans can do is hope that the Hammers, who are due to play Liverpool in the F.A. Cup final, field their strongest possible team and maintain the form that has brought them such a successful season. Otherwise, a Tottenham side that didnt deserve to beat Bolton Wanderers will obtain 4th place in questionable circumstances.
