Rumour has it that Ruud Van Nistelrooy is contemplating taking legal
action against Patrick Vieira – which many observers might regard
as a step up from the illegal action he is alleged to have taken
against him in the past.
According to excerpts from Patrick’s autobiography in the News of
the World, the ex-Arsenal skipper has pulled no punches - branding
Van Nistelrooy “a cheat”, “a coward”, “sneaky”, “a nasty piece of
work” and “a son of a bitch” and adding for good measure that everyone
at Arsenal hates him. Clear evidence that Vieira has the same talent
for diplomacy as Roy Keane.
It has to be acknowledged, however, that Ruud’s unpopularity is
not confined to Arsenal and cynics may say that Vieira is simply
articulating what virtually everyone outside the red half of Manchester
is thinking.
But if he does take legal action, and he wins, it will probably
be the first time Ruud Van Nistelrooy has ever got the better of
Patrick Vieira.
